The short answer

Every Jacksonville job is priced one of two ways, with one floor underneath both.

  • The floor: $75 per visit. No job bills less than this, however small.
  • Per item. Every common household item has a published rate. A sofa is $126. A queen mattress is $103. A refrigerator is $164. A TV is $62 to $73 depending on size.
  • Per truck fraction. $241 for a quarter, $338 for 3/8, $431 for a half, $513 for 5/8, $587 for 3/4, $661 for 7/8, $732 for a full truck.

You take whichever of the last two is lower for your load. Nothing is added afterwards - no disposal fee, no stair fee, no distance charge, no same-day surcharge.

The $75 minimum, explained honestly

The minimum exists because sending a truck and two people across Duval County costs what it costs whether they collect one microwave or twelve items. Duval is roughly 875 square miles - a run out to Oceanway, Baldwin or Julington Creek is a real journey, not a hop.

So a single countertop microwave, listed at $30, bills at $75. That is not a hidden fee; it is the published floor.

The practical consequence: if your list is under $75, add to it. A bag of clothes is $35, a bicycle is $37, a small area rug is $33, a bar stool is $37, a patio chair is $30. You are paying for the visit anyway, so use it. And because the minimum is per visit, doing the bedroom and the lanai on one window rather than two separate ones saves you a whole minimum.

The truck-fill ladder

Truck fillPrice
1/4$241
3/8$338
1/2$431
5/8$513
3/4$587
7/8$661
Full$732

Volume pricing is for loads you would not want to itemize: a garage, a shed, a Florida room, a whole apartment, an estate. You are buying space in the truck, so whatever fits in that fraction goes for that price.

The crossover: when volume beats itemizing

This is the single most useful calculation on the page. Add your items up. Work out the smallest truck fraction that would hold the load. Book whichever is cheaper.

Example one - the truck wins at two items. Sofa $126 plus a queen mattress and box spring set $143. $126 + $143 = $269. Both are bulky, and they fit a quarter truck at $241. Book the quarter and save $28.

Example two - the items win at three. Nightstand $57, end table $52, coffee table $67. $57 + $52 + $67 = $176. Small pieces, well under the $241 quarter. Book the items.

Example three - a living room. Sofa $126, loveseat $119, armchair $77, coffee table $67. $126 + $119 + $77 + $67 = $389. A 3/8 truck is $338 - book that and save $51.

Note what that shows. The crossover is not about how many things you have, it is about how bulky they are. Four small tables stay under the quarter truck. Two sofas do not.

What is included, and what is never charged

Inside the price:

  • Two people and the truck
  • Carry-out from wherever the item is - bedroom, attic, detached garage, backyard shed, screened lanai, Florida room
  • Breaking down what needs breaking down on site
  • Disposal, including the facility fees
  • A sweep-up of the space

Never charged:

  • Stairs. No stair fee. This is worth stating because so much Jacksonville rental stock is walk-up garden apartments off Baymeadows and Southside, and beach duplexes with exterior staircases.
  • Distance from the truck to the item. Long Westside and Ortega driveways, deep lots, a shed at the back fence - no charge.
  • Which part of the county. No distance surcharge inside our service area, beaches to Baldwin.
  • Same-day booking. No surcharge.
  • Condition. A soaked, mildewed sofa is $126, same as a clean one.

What genuinely changes your price

Two things only: what the items are, and how many there are.

Some items cost more than others because they are genuinely harder work, and those differences are published rather than sprung on you. A sleeper sofa is $149 rather than $126 because of the steel frame inside. A three-piece sectional is $185. A king bed frame in solid or upholstered construction is $152 against $68 for a standard metal frame. A hot tub is $322 because it has to be cut down on site. A pool table is $603.

If your item is unusual, send a photo and we will confirm the number in writing before anyone drives out. There is no estimate visit in this model, which in a county this size saves you a morning.

What drives cost up in Jacksonville specifically

Four local factors that make loads here bigger than newcomers expect:

  • No basements. Everything a northern house puts in a cellar goes in the garage, the carport, the attic, the backyard shed or the Florida room. When you clear a Jacksonville home, all five come into the truck.
  • Hurricane supplies. Most long-occupied garages carry several seasons of plywood, sandbags and tarps. Bulky, heavy, and nobody misses it.
  • Humidity write-offs. Upholstery, cardboard, books and particleboard stored in unconditioned space develop mold, so the proportion of a household that is disposal rather than donation is higher here than in a dry climate.
  • Salt air at the beaches. Patio furniture, grills and window AC units at Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach and Jacksonville Beach get replaced on a much shorter cycle.

None of those change the published rates. They change how much truck you need, which is the number worth estimating carefully before you book.

Frequently asked questions

How much does junk removal cost in Jacksonville?

The minimum is $75 per visit. Single items run from $30 for a countertop microwave to $322 for a hot tub, with a sofa at $126 and a refrigerator at $164. Whole-load pricing runs from $241 for a quarter truck to $732 for a full one.

Should I price by item or by truck fraction?

Whichever is lower. Add your items, then find the smallest truck fraction that would hold them. A sofa plus a queen bed set is $126 + $143 = $269, but both fit a quarter truck at $241, so the quarter wins. Three small tables at $176 stay below it, so the items win.

Why is there a $75 minimum?

Because a truck and two people crossing Duval County costs the same whether they collect one item or ten. Duval covers roughly 875 square miles. If your list is under $75 you are paying $75 anyway, so add the bicycle at $37 or the bag of clothes at $35.

Is disposal included in the price?

Yes, including the facility fees. There is no separate dump charge, no environmental surcharge and no fuel surcharge added afterwards.

Do you charge more for stairs, long driveways or the beaches?

No to all three. There is no stair fee, no carry-distance fee and no distance surcharge inside our Jacksonville service area, from the beaches out to Baldwin.

Can I get a firm price without an estimate visit?

Yes. Every common item and every truck fraction is published, so you can total it yourself. For anything unusual, send a photo and we confirm the number in writing before the window.
