The City of Jacksonville does collect bulky household items on collection day. Whether it works for you depends on a few specific rules — and on whether your address is in the consolidated city at all.
Furniture and mattresses go out by 6 a.m. on collection day, within five feet of the curb. Glass has to be wrapped, carpet rolled, and pieces over five feet long are refused.
These aren’t part of regular bulk pickup inside the city. A refrigerator or washer needs its own request through MyJax or the 630-CITY line before a crew will collect it.
Atlantic, Neptune and Jacksonville Beach voted to keep their own governments in 1968, so they run their own sanitation. Check your beach city’s public works department for its rules.
Each county sets its own program. In St. Johns, appliance pickup is arranged by calling county Solid Waste, and residents can drop off at the Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road transfer stations.
